A Bike Decorating Contest to a Lawn Mower Race …
There is Something Fun for Everyone

Bolton Loco together with the Bolton Parks and Recreation Commission are planning a fun 4th of July Celebration! The event will include the traditional bike and doll carriage decorating contest while adding some new activities like a Family Field Day and a Lawn Mower Race!  We are keeping the event short so you can take part of this fun Town event and still maintain your own Independence Day traditions.

For a full schedule of events, please visit the Bolton Parks and Recreation Commission website.

Museum of Russian Icons: Rare Icons from the British Museum

The museum of Russian Icons, located on 203 Union Street in Clinton, is hosting rare artifacts from the British Museum.

This exceptional selection of icons and artifacts from London’s renowned British Museum traces the stylistic development of sacred art from ancient Byzantium, center of Christian civilization, to the introduction of Christianity to Russia.

This is the first time the British Museum has loaned Saint John the Baptist (c. 1300) and the famous Saint George and the Dragon (late 14th century) to a U.S. museum. These rare icons – two of the oldest and finest icons in existence – alone are worth a visit to the exhibit. A rare ivory from the Worcester Art Museum as well as related icons from the collection of the Museum of Russian Icons are also on display. Sebastian Smee of the Boston Globe recently listed this exhibit as a top pick.
